
OCL replaced 36 inch Froth Pipeline and 30 inch Water Pipeline under the Peter Lougheed Bridge spanning the Athabasca River and Highway 63. The project required all excavation, pipe weights, tie-ins, backfill, reclamation, pipe handling, automatic welding, blasting, coating, structural, scaffolding and electrical disciplines, plus installation of 600 metres of 36 inch underground piping. The work also included the temporary installation of one of the largest Aqua Dams in North America at the time, measuring 305 metres.
